A Peek Into Several European Countries

One of the non-government organizations that is in Spain is PREDIF Confederation. It is a non-profit, which represents state level and develops programs for people with disabilities. The association has been helping thousands of people for over thirty years. PREDIF’s mission statements is to promote equal opportunities and to improve the quality of life of people living with physical disabilities. They have a few different programs that were developed to help promote these ideas. Two of the bigger programs include the tourism program, and the flight to sailing program. The tourism program was developed to help people with disabilities the ability to travel easier. A few of the objectives of the program include having the public be aware of the destinations accessible, and also developing training in different courses on the accessibility features and treatment of clients with disabilities. The flight to sailing program is a collaboration with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Society for Civil Aeronautical Training and the Vodafone Foundation. It allows people with disabilities to fly at only twenty percent of the actual cost of the flight. There are a few main objectives of the program. The first is that it was developed to open a new field of activities for those with disabilities. The program also includes courses for beginners, and provides the ability to get a degree in piloting gliders. PREDIF is also a part of many different projects around Spain. An example would be helping to make outdoor activities available to all people. The picture that is included is one of the banners of the PREDIF website. It says “work to improve the quality of life of the people with disabilities.” I believe this is a great NGO, and that all countries should work hard to make the lives of people with disabilities as normal and inclusive as they can.
