Spain has a diverse culture and there are many popular activities Spaniards take part in during their leisure time. Some of the most popular activities that people do in their free time are attending sporting events, bullfighting, going to dances and listening to music. The most popular sport in Spain is soccer (Futbol in Español). They have many teams, some of which include Atlético de Madrid, FC Barcelona, Real Sociedad, Valencia CF and Real Madrid C. F. Bullfighting and the running of the bulls are some of the best known Spanish traditions. The running of the bulls take place annually and the most famous is a seven day festival of Sanfermines, in honor of Saint Fermin. The most common form of dance is the Flamenco dance style, which is a type of gypsy dance that originated in Andalusia. The music of Spain is very diverse as well, reflecting the cultural differences across the region. As far as celebrations go, the most important holiday in Spain is during the “Semana Santa” (Holy Week), which is celebrated the week before Easter. Some of the most common ways of celebrating during the holy week include going to parades, fireworks, bonfires, bullfights and beauty pageants. flemanco
