Border between Spain and Gibraltar

By: Tiffany Murray

For hundreds of years Gibraltar has been the object of an irredentist claim made by Spain. There has been many attempts to resolve the issue, although none of them have lasted. Lately the issue over the land has gotten worse, and the border patrol has been carrying out very stringent border checks. On August thirteenth the Telegraph in Spain reported that thousands of Spaniards cross the border every day for work. Lines have been forming since the Thirteenth and because the border checks have been so stringent the lines have, at some points, lasted over five hours.

Interesting! Where do you see this going in the future? Toward resolution or further complication?
